SBP Releases FY26 Monetary Policy Committee Meeting Schedule

Karachi – July 23, 2025:TheState Bank of Pakistan (SBP)on Tuesday issued the advance calendar for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meetings for the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26), in a move aimed at enhancing transparency and predictability in monetary policy decisions. In an official statement, the central bank announced that, in line with itsStrategic Plan – Vision 2028, it will also begin publishing aMonetary Policy Report (MPR)on abiannual basis. These reports will be released within two weeks of the July and January MPC meetings and will include updated projections for key macroeconomic indicators. According to SBP, these reports will serve as a supplement to the central bank’s existing communication efforts with key stakeholders, with the goal of improving theeffectiveness of monetary policy transmissionandanchoring inflation expectations. The initiative is a critical step in SBP’s broader roadmap toward adopting a formalinflation targeting regime.
