ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, announced its financial results for the half year ended June 30, 2025, at a Board of Directors meeting held in Islamabad.
PTCL Group recorded a16% year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth, maintaining its position as Pakistan’s premier integrated telecom services provider. Group revenue growth was driven by strong performance in fixed broadband, mobile data, enterprise, and carrier wholesale services.
PTCL standalone revenue increased by12% YoY, led by a remarkable62% growth in Flash Fiberand15% growth in Business Solutions. Carrier and Wholesale business grew by18%, while the international segment posted a10% YoY increase.
The company’s operating profit reachedRs7.9 billion, up38%from the same period last year. However, PTCL posted anet loss of Rs3.3 billiondue to a one-off adjustment related to additional pension liability as per the Supreme Court’s order.
PTCL’s flagship FTTH service,Flash Fiber, continued to drive revenue growth, supported by expansion of its footprint across the country. The Business Solutions segment maintained leadership in IP bandwidth, cloud, data center, and ICT services, further strengthening Pakistan’s position as a regional connectivity hub.
During the period, PTCL signed a landmarkTrans-Pakistan connectivity agreement with Chinese operatorsand executed submarine cable capacity sales fromSingapore to Marseille, enhancing Pakistan’s role in global digital infrastructure.
The enterprise business diversified into FinTech and IoT solutions, while major government M2M deals were closed. PTCL also launched Pakistan’sfirst 5G-ready smart residential communityand introducedautomated bill delivery via WhatsApp.
Ufone 4G recorded17% YoY topline growth, supported by cost optimization initiatives that helped deliverEBIT of Rs7.6 billion, compared to just Rs0.7 billion last year. The 4G subscriber base grew to17.5 million, reflecting13% YoY growthand 66% penetration.
The company launched‘Super 5’, a shared plan for families and small teams, and its digital sub-brandOnicsurpassed300,000 subscribers, achieving132% YoY growth.
UMicrofinance Bank(Ubank) posted25% YoY revenue growthby optimizing its branch network and enhancing efficiency. Its mobile walletUPaisa crossed 1 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs), showing155% YoY growth, while the Group’s self-care appUPTCL surpassed 5 million MAUs.
PTCL Group secured multiple wins at thePakistan Digital AwardsandEffie Pakistan, highlighting its excellence in digital innovation, social media, corporate reputation, and customer engagement.
