Jazz Extends Digital Pakistan Fellowship Program to LUMS

Lahore, Pakistan –Jazz,Pakistan’s leading digital conglomerate, has extended its flagshipDigital Pakistan Fellowship Programto theLahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). This initiative aims to empower students to shape the digital discourse and contribute to the evolving landscape of tech journalism in Pakistan. The fellowship program is designed to engage the youth in meaningful conversations about technology, innovation, and progress. By fostering critical perspectives and creating awareness about the transformative power of technology, the program aligns with Jazz’s vision of enabling a digitally progressive Pakistan. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Jazz and LUMS during a ceremony held at the university on Wednesday. This collaboration builds on Jazz’s previous partnerships with academic institutions such as theNational University of Sciences and Technology(NUST), Beaconhouse National University (BNU), and Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU). Thesepartnerships aim to promote tech-based innovationand storytelling across the country. Speaking at the event,Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, emphasized the significance of the program:“This partnership with LUMS reinforces our commitment to fostering a digitally inclusive and progressive Pakistan. By empowering students to lead the discourse ontechnology and innovation, we aim to inspire narratives that reflect Pakistan’s readiness to embrace a tech-driven future. This initiative is part of Jazz’s broader vision to enable the youth to drive meaningful change through the power of technology.” Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, highlighted the importance of critical thinking in education:“At LUMS, we believe education is not just about acquiring knowledge but fostering the ability to think critically and engage meaningfully with the challenges of our time. This partnership with Jazz provides our students with the opportunity to explore the transformative role of technology and lead conversations that contribute to a progressive and digitally empowered Pakistan.” The program offers students opportunities to amplify their voices on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Jazz envisions inspiring a new generation of storytellers who can articulate the role of technology in fostering progress and innovation. TheDigital Pakistan Fellowship Programhas already empowered over 90 fellows, 78% of whom are women, in the field of tech journalism. Through its two citizen journalism cohorts, the program has engaged over 1,200 creators and provided more than 2,500 hours of training. By bringing the program to LUMS, Jazz continues its mission to promote innovation-led growth and inspire the youth to play a key role in Pakistan’s digital transformation.
